Brow Waxing Vs. Brow Designing

Some waxers only remove excess hair, but don’t always measure brows to make sure they frame the eyes properly. (The eyes are the artwork the brows are the frames that accentuates the eyes.)

They should be long enough to make them graceful and elegant, with the arch in the proper place as well as balanced. I tell my clients that brows are sisters, but never twins, because they each grow differently. So the trick is to get them to look like they belong on the same face.

I was taught to measure in Aesthetician school but found that my art degree training and years of being a makeup artist was more helpful, because we study proportions of the body and face.
When brows are correctly and artistically done they can play up your eyes and give your face a more elegant look as well as a softer expression rather than harsh or surprised look.

All brows should be customized to the face shape and hair growth patterns of different nationalities.

Giving your clients the brows she dreams of, that are truly unique to her is an art not just a service.

Finding a brow artist:

1) Aestheticians have the most waxing hours since that’s one of their main events. They also need to have an art or makeup background, since some don’t wear or do makeup and are only interested in skin care.

2) Hairdressers with an eye for art or makeup.

3) Nail Technicians can only wax below the knee on the leg and below the elbow on the arm.

4) When all else fails, find someone who has eyebrows to die for. They should be full and natural with nice artistic arches.

PS- remember as we get older our hair does not grow back as well when we wax too thin. You don’t want to draw on eyebrows later in life. Also, men like the clean polished look for their brows too.
